Beginner surf lesson - Child
Winter Surf Safety:
Kids’ lessons can still run in colder months, but when water temperatures drop below 7°C we recommend rescheduling for under-12s. Lessons for young surfers and adult beginners may be cancelled at short notice if temps fall under 4°C, and all surf sessions (including Reef) will pause at 2°C for safety. We monitor conditions closely and will update you quickly so you can surf safely, stay warm and enjoy every session.

Lost Shore Kids Intermediate Surf Camp – Spring 2026!
Get your kids stoked on surfing at Lost Shore. Our exciting week-long intermediate camp (Mon to Fri) is the perfect way for young surfers aged 7 to 16 to take their surfing to the next level.
Led by our team of passionate and experienced surf coaches, surfers will learn to master the reef lineup, with guided and assisted take off where needed. Trimming along the open face and starting to link some turns together with some fun and freestyle along the way.
All improvers will be required to wear helmets on the reef and the camp is aimed at surfers comfortable in deeper water who have mastered the beginner whitewater.

Spaces are limited – book early to secure your spot! When booking, you only need to select the Monday at the start of each camp to secure your place for every day that week.
Meet us at Lost Shore
Arrival at LSSR reception 30 mins prior to start time, where you will check into your lesson. We’ll then kit you out with all your gear at the wetsuit desk, then give you directions on where to get changed and meet your coach. Each daily session runs for 1.5 hours, with a combination of on-land and on-water coaching. Pick up 2 hours after scheduled drop off daily.
Through the week
Children learn to navigate the line-up, improved paddling technique, catching unbroken waves and correct take-off and surf stance. They work through a structured programme of surf levels so they know how to progress and feel a sense of achievement as they do.
What to bring
Remember to pack your swimsuit and towel. Wetsuits and helmets are provided, but feel free to bring your own.
Surf for £55 a session. Valid for 3 months and can be used on any of our surf lessons or sessions.

Why not book a table at Canteen, our waterfront restaurant, for some pre or post show food & drink. The wood-fired stove will be lit and you can enjoy mulled drinks, hot chocolates and incredible food, all whilst watching some surfers in action.
Nothing gets you in the mood for Christmas more than a good festive flick!
